The Mazda6 is available in 5 engine versions from the 1.8 litre petrol delivering 118bhp, 2.0 litre petrol and 2.3 litre with 164bhp. There is also a 2.0TD diesel delivering 119/134bhp. The usual expectations of reliability from the Japanese.

Driving position in the 6 is good with adjustable steering and good visibility. Security includes an alarm as standard, Isofix child seat mountings on the outer rear seats as well audible and visible seatbelt warning added for the rear seats from mid-2005.
